Medicare…. or ‘Thanks Russia.’

Hey ya’ll. It’s that time again. What time? 1:53 pm Mountain Standard Time? Well, that too… but it’s also the time when we can discuss all things Medicare. If you want to talk 2011 Medicare supplement insurance, well, we can do that too. I think that the many employees who work in the medicare industry are good folks earning an honest living. No problem there. However, the very concept of having the federal government running health insurance is something that I am fundamentally opposed to. You know who the first government was to come up with state run health insurance? Germany… back in the 30′s. Draw your own conclusions. Many estimates support the conclusion that nearly one third of all Medicare and Medicaid claims are fraudulent. That means that about a third of the money that the government’s Medicare program is paying out is going to crooks or frauds. No big deal, it’s not my money, right? Well, where do you think that they get the money? The answer is that they take it out of your paycheck every time that you get payed. There’s a little line with FICA and a number. That number is the amount of money that you are paying to Medicare. Take one third of that… that’s for the frauds.
