We gave it a look and saw they had one category for the business. They could have actually added two categories based on the type of business it was. And under categories they had not selected the services the business offered that were available for the category.<\/p>\n<p><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-17036\" src=\"https:\/\/www.advicelocal.com\/images\/yelp-categories-services-example.png\" alt=\"yelp-categories-services-example\" width=\"1000\" height=\"917\" \/><\/p>\n<p>These additional steps don\u2019t take long but can really help a business listing to stand out a bit more, plus provide additional information to the search engines to better understand the services offered by the business. Make sure you are <a href=\"https:\/\/www.advicelocal.com\/blog\/help-yelp-local-businesses\/\">claiming your clients\u2019 Yelp listings<\/a> and optimizing them. At the very minimum, if you are an Advice Local partner, have us provide the Yelp public edits for you at no additional charge.<\/p>\n<h2>Bing Optimization Is a Must, Too<\/h2>\n<p>For this same client of theirs, this partner had not one but two Bing listings. Again, they stated they had optimized the listing. The duplicate listing needed to be deleted and the correct one needed the images Bing was pulling from the review, the categories cleaned up \u2013 and the business\u2019 website URL corrected. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.advicelocal.com\/blog\/how-to-bing-places-listing\/\">Creating\/claiming the Bing Places listing is the first step<\/a>. You\u2019ll also want to make sure you <a href=\"https:\/\/www.advicelocal.com\/blog\/bing-places-dashboard-business-listing\/\">optimize the Bing Places listing<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>For our Advice Local partners, we include Bing at no additional charge. We\u2019ll utilize the information within your partner dashboard for the business to complete the listing. As long as you have that information correct, the Bing listing will be taken care of for you. There may be additional optimizations you\u2019ll want to do after the fact directly on the Bing Places listing.<\/p>\n<h2>Google Business Profile Optimization Is the Starting Point<\/h2>\n<p>We certainly <em>are not<\/em> ignoring Google Business Profile (formerly known as Google My Business) when it comes to optimizing. In fact, we recommend you start with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.advicelocal.com\/blog\/optimize-google-my-business\/\">creating\/claiming the Google Business Profile (GBP) listing<\/a>. There is so much to GBP optimization that we can\u2019t possibly cover it all here today. However, we have a <a href=\"https:\/\/beta.advicelocal.com\/blog\/advice-local-resources\/applying-eat-google-my-business-listing\/\">guide<\/a> on optimizing Google Business Profile you may find helpful. Optimizing a GBP listing is not ever a one-time event \u2013 you need to be continually updating the business\u2019 GBP listing.<\/p>\n<h3>Use Google Business Profile Sync and Then Bing Sync to Save Time<\/h3>\n<p>Did you know the information from the business\u2019 Google Business Profile listing can actually be imported into the Bing Places listing? This is available through the Bing dashboard by connecting the two.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-17037\" src=\"https:\/\/www.advicelocal.com\/images\/bing-google-my-business-sync-example.png\" alt=\"bing-google-my-business-sync-example\" width=\"1000\" height=\"223\" \/><\/p>\n<p>For our partners, if you <a href=\"https:\/\/www.advicelocal.com\/blog\/google-my-business-sync-keeps-your-gmbs-listings-updated\/\">set up GBP Sync<\/a> within your Advice Local dashboard you can push all the data for the business to the GBP listing \u2013 and then sync the GBP with the Bing listing.
