This time making changes to Google Business Profile (previously known as Google My Business) products and GBP posts. Keep reading to get the scoop. Glancing through the <a href=\"https:\/\/support.google.com\/business\/answer\/10786874\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Google Product Approval help doc<\/a>, it does not appear they\u2019re going to stop businesses from adding services in the product section.<\/p>\n<p><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-17248\" src=\"https:\/\/www.advicelocal.com\/images\/gmb-product-review-example.png\" alt=\"gmb product review example\" width=\"892\" height=\"980\" \/><\/p>\n<p>We did a test on our Google Business Profile listing. The product went into <em>pending<\/em> immediately, and was approved within 10 minutes.<\/p>\n<h2>What Else Is Happening With Google Business Profile?<\/h2>\n<p>Over on <a href=\"https:\/\/streetfightmag.com\/2021\/08\/25\/google-local-search-trends-i-personalization\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Street Fight<\/a> there\u2019s an interesting read about personalization authored by Damian Rollison. Damian says, \u201cWhen I refer to personalization, I\u2019m talking about various means of customizing search results to conform to the specific details of what the searcher is looking for.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>He points out that the \u201cGBP mission is to have businesses provide as much relevant information for as many content areas as possible.\u201d This lines up with all the features made available in the GBP listing for us (as local marketers) to complete for businesses.<\/p>\n<h2>Google Business Profile Justifications Comes Up Again<\/h2>\n<p>Damian continues by pointing out that Google is using the information the business provides in the GBP listing to personalize the search results. To demonstrate relevance they show <a href=\"https:\/\/www.advicelocal.com\/blog\/zero-click-search-what-it-has-to-do-with-google-my-business\/\">justifications or mentions, as we have referred to them before<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-17249\" src=\"https:\/\/www.advicelocal.com\/images\/probate-litigation-google-search-example-1.png\" alt=\"probate litigation google search example\" width=\"950\" height=\"1070\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Joy Hawkins\u2019 team released a helpful how-to explaining the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.brightlocal.com\/learn\/local-justifications-in-google-my-business\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">different types of justifications within a Google Business Profile listing<\/a>, and which ones are indicators that the justification influenced the appearance of the business in Google Maps.<\/p>\n<h2>Is Google Sharing Your GBP Posts on Third-Party Sites?<\/h2>\n<p>When putting up a Google Business Profile post this week, this message was spotted at the top: \u201cYour posts will appear on Google services across the web, like Maps and Search, and on third-party sites. Your posts must comply with Google\u2019s policies.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-17250\" src=\"https:\/\/www.advicelocal.com\/images\/google-posts-third-party-message.png\" alt=\"google posts third party message\" width=\"966\" height=\"516\" \/><\/p>\n<p>As of now, we don\u2019t know what third-party sites Google is referring to. It will be interesting to see how that turns out.
