And with \u201cnear me\u201d searches taking place on desktop, mobile and voice search \u2013 and with varying intent \u2013 it\u2019s more important than ever before for businesses to be optimized across diversified platforms, from Google and Bing to hyperlocal directories \u2013 sites like Bubblelife, Nextdoor and MapQuest.<\/p>\n

Google Is Focused on Hyperlocal<\/h2>\n

A reason some are skeptical about \u201cnear me\u201d search optimization comes from Google\u2019s Vicinity update<\/a>. One aspect of the update was the push to tackle Google Business Profile (GBP) spam in business names.
