Not only will we see ads on mobile devices when we search Google, we&#8217;ll also be seeing them in Google maps, especially in the Google Maps app.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_4380\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-4380\" style=\"width: 255px\" class=\"wp-caption alignright\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-4380\" src=\"https:\/\/beta.advicelocal.com\/blog\/images\/Ads_in_Maps_Promoted_Pins.jpg\" alt=\"Ads in Maps - Promoted Pins\" width=\"255\" height=\"453\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-4380\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Image Source Credit: Google<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>At the Google Performance Summit this week, Google announced that they will be including popup ads in the search results in Google Maps.\u00a0 Paid pins, for example, will show a company&#8217;s logo as a part of the pin on a map.<\/p>\n<p>Fast food companies (and restaurants) will be able to advertise directly on Google Maps, as well as coffee shops, pharmacies, and other retailers. A good example might even be a gas station or other retailer trying to appeal to drivers along a busy interstate.<\/p>\n<p>Google&#8217;s Sridhar Ramaswamy, Senior Vice President, Ads and Commerce, <a href=\"https:\/\/adwords.googleblog.com\/2016\/05\/ads-and-analytics-innovations-for-a-mobile-first-world.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">wrote in a blog post<\/a> about what they&#8217;re doing on mobile:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><em>&#8220;&#8230; investing in more branded, customized experiences for businesses on Google Maps &#8212; geared towards helping you increase store visits.&#8221;<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Google is calling these company logos on Google Maps &#8220;promoted pins&#8221;, and currently there is no timeframe for all of this rolling out&#8211;they say that we&#8217;ll start seeing these soon.<\/p>\n<div class='tm-tweet-clear'><\/div>\n<div class='tm-click-to-tweet'>\n<div class='tm-ctt-text'><a href='https:\/\/twitter.com\/share?text=%23Google+Adds+More+Ads+on+Maps.+Get+the+story+from+%23AdviceLocal%E2%80%99s+%40BHartzer+%23PPC+%23%E2%80%8EGPS2016&#038;url=https:\/\/www.advicelocal.com\/blog\/google-adds-ads-maps\/' target='_blank'>#Google Adds More Ads on Maps.
